One of our big achivements this season is to be signed off on the Rugby Football Union's Seal of Approval, for which Lisa Loughran has worked very hard to achieve this for the club and deserves a big pat on the back. We are current awaiting the President of the RFU to sign, then we can have a full blown celebration at the club. Click on the Logo to your left and see what this means to the club.

We are a very friendly and family orientated club with a very long and varied history. There are currently two senior sides (but we are hoping to field three by the end of this season) a Colts side and a good youth section. We are also now training a Women's team and hope to have a full squad very soon. For the future we are looking to have two Girls Teams U17's & U13's. We are always on the look out for new players & members. The club prides itself on its friendly atmosphere and although from the outside looks like a portable building, the inside is very well decorated. The club has SKY installed which can be viewed on the 42inch screen or our new 150" screen system. This is a great venue for watching those big matches.
















We have recently removed all the weeds and rubbish from our parking area on the approach to the clubhouse. This was possible by the kind donations of the Thames Gateway Trust, Veolia & Mardyke Trust along with our own club funds. We have and will continuine to plant trees and bushes in this area, which is designed to enhance the outlook for our neighbours as well as ourselves at a cost of over £16,000. Also as the bushes mature they will be planted in such a way to provide screening for the reduction of noise and direct views into our neighbours homes.

We have also added a screened memorial garden, with seating and planters providing an area to remember our old members who are no longer with us. Again there is a plan of planting designed to allow the temporary bamboo screen to removed as the climbers mature.
These Two projects are the first part of our plans to plant a lot more trees, bushes and shrubs that will make the bounders of our ground look even more enticing.


We are working hard to promote Rugby in the local area. Our Mini & Youth coaches are currently helping lots local schools to introduct Rugby into there schools, as well as help teachers to achieve tag rugby teams. We are working with the South Ockendon Forum, William Edwards Sports Academy & Thurrock School Sports Parnership were Thames RFC have hosted a school mixed rugby competition for year 5 & 6 girls and boys, and various inter school competitions. We also ran a Half Term rugby school in conjunction with the Forum, this was very successful with most of the children now playing in the mini section of the club. Thames RFC also opens our its facilities for the benefit of other sports, like Football, Netball & Cricket. We are continuing to improve the condition of all our playing surfaces. This has been aided by the purchase of a new Tractor with Cutter.

One of the most successful events supported by the club was the "Lets Kick racism out of Football" tournament, which in the past has been attended by over 1500 people, the mayor & his wife and Trevor Brooking who give some encouraging words to the young footballers.
